Trying StitchPress without an account
StitchPress has a “try it first” mode: you can open the crochet and knit editors right in your browser and start drawing without creating an account. It is a way to get a feel for the tools before you sign up.
Try without signing up
Section titled “Try without signing up”When the try editors are available, you get the same crochet and knit editors that signed-in users have, running anonymously. You can place stitches, build a chart, and move around the canvas exactly as you would with an account. A try project starts with a friendly default name — My first crochet chart or My first knit chart — and a Sign up — it’s free button sits in the corner whenever you are ready.
Exporting and sharing are reserved for people with an account. When you reach for one of them, StitchPress shows a small prompt — Sign up free to export or Sign up free to share — rather than blocking you outright. Select Keep editing to carry on, or Sign up free to create your account.
Claiming your work
Section titled “Claiming your work”Your try-mode work is not thrown away when you sign up. StitchPress keeps it aside with a promise that it will come with you: “Your work comes with you — everything you made here will be waiting in your account.”
When you sign in or sign up, StitchPress copies the projects you made in try mode into your account, and shows a short confirmation: “Your work was added to your account.” From then on, those projects behave like any other — saved, synced, and available on your other devices. This claim happens automatically; there is no separate import step to run.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”Until you claim it by signing in, try-mode work is local to the browser you made it in:
- It is stored only in this browser on this device, not in an account. It will not appear on your phone or another computer.
- Clearing your browser’s site data — or using private/incognito windows that discard data when closed — can remove it.
- Exporting and sharing are account features, so you will be prompted to sign up to use them. The pattern editor is available only with an account.
If you think you will want to keep what you make, signing up early is the safest way to be sure it is stored and synced.
