Crochet editor overview

The crochet editor lets you build crochet diagrams stitch by stitch, from a simple ring of single crochet to complex shaped and colored designs. Instead of drawing symbols by hand, you pick a stitch, place it on the canvas, and connect it to the stitches around it — the chart grows the way your work does, round by round or row by row.

This page introduces the parts of the workspace and how to start a diagram. The rest of this section covers moving around the canvas, adding and shaping stitches, coloring them, working with cluster stitches, and sharing the finished chart.

The workspace

The editor fills the browser window, with your diagram on a canvas in the middle and tools arranged around the edges.

• Stitch rail (left edge) — the vertical strip of stitch icons you drag from to add stitches. It holds your everyday stitches, with an All stitches button that opens the full library. Just above it is the Stitch / Guide toggle, which switches between placing stitches and placing the guides they snap to.
• Toolbar (top) — the mode buttons (Edit, Place, Chain, Sizing), the stitch color swatch, overlay toggles for rounds and order, and buttons to export and share. The document name and save status sit at the top left.
• Canvas (center) — where the diagram lives. Each stitch is drawn as its standard crochet symbol. Selecting a stitch shows its handles — the small circles that mark its base and top.
• Inspector (right) — details for whatever is selected: its color, round and order, links to neighboring stitches, and (for a cluster) its member stitch and count.
• Rounds panel (left) — lists the stitches in your diagram grouped by round, and lets you jump to any of them.

Creating a diagram

1. Sign in and go to Your workspace.
2. Select New, then New crochet. StitchPress creates an empty diagram and opens it in the editor.
3. Start adding stitches — see Adding stitches.

Your work saves automatically as you go; the save indicator next to the diagram name shows the current status. There is no separate “save to cloud” step.

Opening a diagram

Every crochet diagram you have made appears under Crochet in Your workspace. Select one to reopen it in the editor exactly as you left it. To make a copy, rename, or delete a diagram, use the ⋯ actions menu on its card.
